From Connect Groups to Restore Groups …
Connect groups
Connect groups were set up in 2007 to release more potential for a variety of different groups to meet.
Groups were formed with different themes and meeting at different times and in different places, and some even involve getting out and about together – such as the bike group!
The aim was to connect with Jesus and with each other. Most groups meet twice a month and there are groups that meet in the daytime and on different evenings of the week.
If you ask around you will find many positive stories of what God has done through these groups.
So why change to Restore Groups?
Along with the name that God gave us we see the need to grow up more fully into a tangible expression of restoration.
We want a place for each person to belong and grow, and to be creative and prophetic in helping this to happen, and will be encouraging everyone to join a Restore Group – and some Connect Groups are likely to catch the vision together, and make the transition into being Restore Groups.
The new groups will have the vision to encourage us in this way.
• They will have team leadership,
• be willing to meet up to 3 times each month
• purposefully connect people to resources for growth, such as Bible studies, regular worship and prayer.
Our aim is to have Restore Groups in place by January – though some may start sooner!
In the meantime people are still joining Connect Groups as a way to begin to get to know others. We also have a daytime Alpha Group.
