Vision and values
Restore Community Church believes in a loving God who longs to reach out and touch the lives of ordinary people in an extraordinary way.
To this end, as a church we have a vision to live lives that reflect Jesus to those around us, through our compassion, care and service. We believe everyone was created in the image of God, and that God wants us to discover that image and be restored to it as we are re-united in relationship to God. As our lives are restored, so our relationships will also experience restoration, and this in turn has the potential to bring restoration to whole communities.
Restore desires to be a church that is rooted in the love of God and which demonstrates this love to restore people to God and others; a church whose people are just as committed to worshiping God in their everyday lives as they are to worshiping God in church meetings; a church that is committed to meeting the holistic needs of people; a church that goes out to the people it longs to restore; a church that reflects God’s heart in caring for the poor and needy in other nations; a church that is committed to equipping and resourcing parents to be the primary spiritual influence in their children’s lives; a church that prioritizes relationship with God and one another.
We seek to live out our vision through
Relationships
- Ministry is relationships. Restored relationship with God and then with people brings us into fullness of life (John 10:10)
Generosity
- Generosity is a living demonstration of God’s unconditional grace and extravagant love by which we are restored to right relationship with God.
- God’s kindness leads people to repentance (Romans 2:4)
Service
- Serving others is the means by which generosity is revealed and relationships are built that restore people to God and others (Matthew 20:28)
Our core beliefs are as follows:
- The Bible: God's personal letter to the world
- The Father: God is an all-loving Father who wants the very best for every person in the world
- The Son: Jesus is the Son of God, who came to show us the character and nature of God
- The Spirit: God's Spirit fills and directs our lives so we can reflect Jesus to those around us
- Mankind: Created in God's image
- Salvation: The only way to be restored to God
- The Church: God's design for relational community
- Eternity: The hope of life to come
